Unit 11.5- Work Experience

For work experience we have been tasked with creating a promotional video for a local gas and electrical company, SGS. The company want a video that shows all aspects of their business including training and office shots as well as the products that they sell. SGS also told us that they would like to have a point-of-view walkthrough of their shop floor. We don't have access to a gimbal or camera steady therefore we decided to conduct some practice runs of the walkthrough with a handheld camera at college. We also felt the need to practice a multi camera setup as we have to film workmen on the job and it will not be possible to do multiple takes of this. We then went on a location recce to the shop and offices in order to get an idea of the layout and shots that we need. We also used this opportunity to identify any hazards and do a risk assessment. We are currently in the process of filming this video of which I am directing.

Last year for work experience we were given a brief by a BBC Producer to create a short news piece on the Novichok incident in Salisbury. We decided to base it around how the attack had affected the residents of the city. For this project I was co director and in charge of interviewing local business employees.
