Unit 11.8- Networking

In October 2018 I attended the Digital Wave conference in Bournemouth. The conference consisted of a series of lectures from people in the digital and creative media industries as well as networking opportunities with those in the industry. Whilst there were no representatives from the film industry speaking, there were speakers from other media industries who talked about potential routes into industry and how there is more than one route to achieve what you want. They also talked about the different roles in media with skills that are translatable to the film industry. During the lunch break there were networking opportunities with representatives from local companies in the media industry and, whilst again there were no film and TV representatives, it was a good opportunity to speak to people who have had experience in similar roles to those that can be found in Film and TV.
