The first stage of our drama was to come up with an idea and loose structure. We decided as a group that we wanted to base the drama on historical events rather than fictional, future events. We started researching into what we could base it on before we realised that a number of events in the Bible were quite dystopian. We then started looking at different Bible stories and settled on the Ten Plagues of Egypt. We mind mapped the plagues and came up with an idea of a religious cult, set in modern times, that experiences some of the plagues from the Bible.

Once we had come up with the plot, we needed to storyboard. We did not plan to have any dialogue in the film so we needed to make the storyboards a little more detailed than normal so that the cast and crew knew what they were meant to be doing.

Before we started production we had to finish the rest of the pre production paperwork including risk assessments, location recces and call sheets.
