Unit 11.1- Chosen Discipline

There are few areas of the film industry that I wanted to research; Film Studies, Directing and Editing. I was unsure whether I wanted to go down a more practical or a more theoretical path in the future. In order to determine which university route is correct for me, I first decided to look ahead into the career paths and potential final destinations of each option. Whilst researching each discipline I created a mind map with the necessary skills, figures and routes so that I could evaluate each area. I discovered that the discipline I want to pursue is directing as my skills and qualities are best suited to this field. I also came to the conclusion that I wanted to take a more theoretical route into directing.
